Luminex PLC is a successful engineering company specializing in the fields of Telecommunication, Electrical, Water, Sewerage and Civil Construction. Having been incorporated in 1986, the company has developed expertise in the fields of electrical and telecommunication engineering by keeping abreast with the emerging trends in the relevant fields during the last three decades.
This has enabled the company to be a pioneering partner in many telecommunication and electrical construction projects in Sri Lanka, for which it has been recognized with accolades and awards. The company has built its reputation based on its ability to deliver high quality products and services, personalized customer service and innovation.

Luminex was incorporated as a Limited Liability Private Company on 12/02/1986 under the Companies Act No. 17 of 1982 and re-registered on 19/2/2009 under the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007. The legal form of the company was changed from Private Limited to a Limited Company under provisions of the Companies Act No. 07 of 2007 on 03/13/ 2023.Company became a public listed company from 23rd June 2022 onwards by issuing a 31,250,000 number of shares to public at the price of LKR 8/= per share.

The company specializes in the fields of Extra Low, Low and Medium Voltage electrical engineering and Telecommunication outside plant Engineering and is one of the few companies in Sri Lanka to receive Construction Industry Development Authority (CIDA) grading of EM 1 in its related areas of activity. Today the organization has 548 direct employees and over 550 indirect employees via subcontractors. The Company has been certified by the Construction Training and Development Authority (CIDA) under the State Ministry of Rural Housing, Construction & Building Materials in Sri Lanka. It has also obtained the ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Certification awarded by DET NORSKE VERITAS (DNV). In order to support its activities, the Company possesses a complete fleet of project vehicles, modern plant & machinery, tools & equipment, office premises and storage facilities in warehouses and sub area stores. Milestone

Commenced casting concrete poles for Ceylon Electricity Board.

1996
Telecom

Commenced Telecom Outside Plant (OSP) construction work with Sumitomo, Japan.

1997
Award

Received award of first ever Telecom Contract from Sri Lanka Telecom.

2007
Construction

Commenced building construction work.

2008

Received award of first ever Telecom Optical Fiber Contract from Dialog, Sri Lanka.

Certification

Received certification of ISO 9001:2008 from DNV, Netherlands for Telecom, Electrical and Building Construction.

Projects & Scope

E1 - Defense Head Quarters, Pelawatte Block 1 (10 Stories). T1 - Shangrila (32 Stories). T1 - Colombo City Centre (47 Stories). T1 - Altair (68 Stories). Included "Water & Sewerage" to the scope of ISO 9001:2015.

2022
IPO

Initial Public Offering on the Colombo Stock Exchange, raising LKR250 million in equity funds. Establishment of Subsidiary in Oman.

2023
JV Agreement

Entered into a JV agreement with Puritas (Pvt) Ltd, for the construction project of Malavi urban water supply scheme in Mulathive District. E1 - Defence Head Quarters Pelawatte Block 364. Cida Level upgration.

2024
Expansion

Agreement with BOI to execute the waste Water Treatment plant at Horana Export Processing Zone. Partnering with Hutchison Telecom, a key mobile operator in Sri Lanka, as a reliable partner, particularly in the development of their transmission network infrastructure.
